Navi Mumbai Water Supply Cut For 24 Hours: Check Dates, Timings & Areas Affected by NMMC Maintenance Work

A 24-hour Navi Mumbai water cut is scheduled as Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will stop supply from 10 am on 13 May to 10 am on 14 May. The shutdown is for major repair and upgrade work at the city’s main water distribution station.

According to Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, water pressure will remain low even after supply restarts on 14 May. Residents have been advised to store enough drinking and household water in advance and to use stored water carefully during the shutdown period.

Navi Mumbai water cut: key affected areas and nodes

The Navi Mumbai water cut will impact several nodes under Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation limits. Areas include Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli and Airoli. The disruption will also hit direct tap connections on the main water line and CIDCO nodes, including Kharghar and Kamothe.

The Navi Mumbai water cut has been planned to install large-diameter valves at the CBD Belapur Sector-28 pumping house and at the Bhokarpada Water Purification Centre, as reported by Mid-Day. Teams will also connect the main pipeline near the Bhokarpada MBR and carry out critical electrical work.

Besides these tasks, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation will perform essential pre-monsoon maintenance at key pumping houses. Officials stated that the work targets the main water pipeline, important valve systems and pipeline connections, aiming to prepare the network for the upcoming monsoon season and manage expected heavy rainfall.

"This is important information for citizens residing in the municipal corporation area. Essential work on the main water pipeline, installation of valves, pipeline connections, and pre-monsoon repair works will be undertaken. Due to this, water supply will remain shut for 24 hours in certain parts of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation area."

Sharing details of the Navi Mumbai water cut on X, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation posted: "Essential works on the main water pipeline, valve installation, pipeline connections, as well as pre-monsoon repair works will be undertaken, due to which the water supply will be disrupted for 24 hours in some areas of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation jurisdiction."

The Navi Mumbai water cut comes as Mumbai also prepares for a separate restriction. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has announced a 10% water supply cut across Mumbai from 15 May. For Navi Mumbai residents, planning storage and adjusting daily routines will be important during the 24-hour shutdown and low-pressure period that follows.
