Is Suriya's Karuppu Releasing Today Or Not? Fans Wonder After 9 am Shows Cancelled

In a major setback to Suriya's Karuppu, the overseas premieres and the special morning shows have been cancelled owing to financial issues.

In a post on X, producer SR Prabhu said, "Due to unavoidable reasons 9am shows will be cancelled for Karuppu. Our sincere apologies to everyone!"

The movie was granted permission for special 9 am shows for the next two days. Unfortunately, the makers could not utilize the permission to their advantage.

Responding to the development, director RJ Balaji tweeted, "Dearest fans, I dont have a concrete answer to the current situation. Producers are doing their best to solve the hurdles. This film has always had hurdles, and somehow God has made us sail through all that and here we are after 32 months. This time as well, I have faith, complete faith in him."

Many fans are questioning whether Karuppu will be released today or will be postponed. Some are also adviving the makers to release the movie on Friday. So far, the production house has not issued any statement on their plans.

On the other hand, the advance booking of tickets have been stopped.

Nikilesh Surya, who manages Rohini Silver Screens, said, "We have received calls to stop bookings for #Karuppu However the distribution team remains confident that all pending issues will be resolved and the film will have an on time release as scheduled. Bookings are paused now, awaiting clarity. All bookings will be honoured if movie releases at 9AM."

Karuppu is an action drama which has Suriya, Trisha Krishnan and RJ Balaji playing key roles. Yogi Babu, Mansoor Ali Khan, George Maryan and others are in the cast.
