Mumbai Police Arrest Woman With 'Mental Health Issues' For Death Threat To Yogi Adityanath

A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a threat message directed at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, which warned that he would be killed "like Baba Siddique" if he did not step down within 10 days.

Mumbai Police detained Fatima Khan after investigations revealed that the message was sent from her number.

According to police sources, Khan, who is highly qualified and holds a BSc degree in Information Technology, has been experiencing mental health issues.

She resides in Thane near Mumbai with her family, and her father is in the timber business.

This arrest follows a threat received by the Mumbai Traffic Police control room, where a message sent to their WhatsApp helpline warned that Yogi Adityanath would be "killed like Baba Siddique" if he did not resign within 10 days.

This latest threat arrives amid a recent surge of death threats received by Mumbai Police over the past few weeks. Most have been directed at Salman Khan, threatening that the actor would be killed if he did not pay a ransom.

In response to a shooting incident outside his residence earlier this year, police have tracked down individuals responsible for these threats, including a vegetable vendor from Jamshedpur and a tattoo artist from Noida. They are currently being held in transit remand for questioning.

One of these threats also mentioned Zeeshan Siddique, Bandra MLA and son of the late Baba Siddique, who was shot dead near his son's office on October 12. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, led by a jailed gangster, has claimed responsibility for the murder.

Baba Siddique, the murdered politician, was known to be close to Salman Khan, who has previously received death threats from the Bishnoi gang, allegedly due to his involvement in the blackbuck hunting case in Rajasthan during the filming of 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang was also linked to the firing outside Salman Khan's residence in April. The actor's security has since been heightened in response to these threats.
