Mumbai Weather Forecast: City Hits 36°C, IMD Predicts Cooler Days Ahead
Mumbai faced a very hot and humid day on Monday, as daytime temperatures rose sharply. The Santacruz weather station recorded a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius. This was a noticeable rise from Sunday's temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius. The increase, along with high levels of humidity, made the weather feel very uncomfortable for people across the city.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), some relief is expected soon. The latest seven-day forecast suggests that day temperatures may come down slightly to around 32 degrees Celsius over the next four days. However, temperatures could rise again to about 35 degrees Celsius towards the weekend.

Night temperatures have also become more comfortable. The minimum temperature has dropped from 27 degrees Celsius on April 10 to 24 degrees Celsius on Monday. This is close to what is expected for this time of year. The IMD has said that the minimum temperature will likely stay between 24 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius in the coming week.
Humidity, however, remains higher than usual for April. Normally, humidity levels in this month stay between 40 per cent and 50 per cent. But on Monday morning at 8:30 am, the Santacruz observatory recorded a humidity level of 76 per cent. This high moisture in the air made the weather feel even hotter and more tiring.
In southern parts of Mumbai, the Colaba observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.5 degrees Celsius on Monday.
Weather experts have advised residents to take precautions. They suggest drinking plenty of water, avoiding going out in the sun during the hottest hours, and staying in cool places. Children, elderly people, and those with health problems are especially advised to be careful during this hot and sticky weather.
