Maharashtra Weather Warning: Orange And Yellow Alerts Issued By IMD; Mumbai’s Lakes Water Level Almost Full
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has been issued an orange alert in certain parts of Maharashtra due to heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in isolated places. Raigad will experience significant rainfall, especially in the ghat areas. Other regions, such as Pune and Satara, will see moderate rain in the plains.
Meanwhile, a yellow Alert is in effect for various other districts. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in Amravati, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, and Wardha. Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated parts of Thane, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, with ghat areas receiving more rain compared to the plains in Nashik and Kolhapur.

Some districts, including Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, and Nanded, may face thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.

The temperature will range between 26 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, with a generally cloudy sky and moderate rain expected.

- On September 9, expect temperatures between 25 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a generally cloudy sky and moderate rain.
- For September 10, the weather forecast predicts temperatures of 26 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius, with a cloudy sky and light rain likely.
- On September 11, the day will see temperatures from 26 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius, with periods of rain.
- On September 12, temperatures will range from 25 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius, with rain expected throughout the day.
Mumbai Lakes Water Level
The water levels in Mumbai's seven reservoirs, which supply the city with drinking water, have reached 98.06 per cent, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday morning.
The BMC's data shows that the total water stock in these lakes is now 14,19,276 million litres, making up 98.06 per cent of their full capacity.
Mumbai receives its water from the Tulsi, Tansa, Vihar, Bhatsa, Modak Sagar, Upper Vaitarna, and Middle Vaitarna reservoirs.
According to the report, the water level in Tansa is at 99.58 per cent, while Modak Sagar is at full capacity with 100 per cent water stock.
Middle Vaitarna is at 97.54 per cent, Upper Vaitarna at 98.09 per cent, Bhatsa at 97.44 per cent, and both Vihar and Tulsi are at 100 per cent of their useful water levels.
