The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues a yellow alert in Mumbai for today and tomorrow, predicting heavy to hefty rainfall in isolated regions.

The day's forecast indicates a minimum temperature of 27.99 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 28.98 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity is 84 per cent, and the wind speed is 84 km/h. The sun rose at 06:04 AM and will set at 07:19 PM.

Tomorrow, on Monday, July 1, 2024, Mumbai is predicted to experience a minimum temperature of 28.32 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 28.97 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels at 82 per cent.

On Saturday, the Financial Capital experienced intermittent showers, with rainfall amounts reaching up to 40 millimetres in various areas. According to IMD data, Santacruz registered 33 millimetres of rain, while Colaba recorded two millimetres in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM on Saturday. Overall, Mumbai received 44.7 millimetres, the eastern suburbs 41.89 millimetres, and the western suburbs 26.68 millimetres during this period.

Areas like Marol, Kurla, Matunga, Dadar, and Prabhadevi recorded significant rainfall.

Mumbai Weather Forecast For The Next Seven Days

June in Mumbai is typically characterised by high temperatures ranging from 28 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius. The month sees frequent rainfall, with an average of 15 to 22 rainy days, consistent with the city's tropical monsoon climate. This period of heavy precipitation is expected to continue, providing both relief and challenges to the residents of Mumbai.

The IMD has provided the following weather forecast for Mumbai over the next seven days:

On July 1, the temperature is expected to be 28.97 degrees Celsius with moderate rain. The following day, July 2, will see a slight drop in temperature to 28.45 degrees Celsius, accompanied by continued moderate rain.

July 3, will have a temperature of 28.59 degrees Celsius and moderate rain. The weather on July 4, is forecasted to be 28.4 degrees Celsius with moderate rain as well.

A significant change is expected on July 5, when the temperature will decrease to 27.29 degrees Celsius, and heavy-intensity rain is predicted.

On July 6, the temperature will rise to 27.95 degrees Celsius with a return to moderate rain. Finally, July 7, will see a temperature of 28.45 degrees Celsius, continuing the pattern of moderate rain.

Maharashtra Weather Forecast

The IMD predicts that there is a possibility of more than average rainfall in most parts of Maharashtra. The 'El Nino' ​​condition may remain neutral in the initial phase. But in the second phase of monsoon i.e. in July or August, 'La Nina' condition is likely to occur. The Meteorological Department has clarified that the La Nina conditions are favourable for this year's monsoon in the country.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert

The IMD has issued yellow alerts for the districts of Palghar, Thane, Sindhudurg, and Satara due to the forecast of heavy rainfall at isolated locations. Additionally, yellow alerts are in effect for Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal. These areas are expected to experience thunderstorms with lightning occurring at isolated places.

IMD Issues Orange Alert

Pune, Raigad, and Ratnagiri are under orange alert for the second consecutive day today. The regions may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.
