Maharashtra Weather Alert: Heavy Rains In Mumbai; High Tide Alert Issued by BMC
Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall in the early hours of Monday, June 16, 2025, leading to waterlogging in several parts of the city. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), most of the rain occurred between 2 am and 5 am, with South Mumbai and the western suburbs being the most affected.

The IMD has issued an orange alert, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall for the rest of the day in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, which includes Mumbai city and suburbs.
Rainfall Data: Fort Receives the Highest Rainfall
As per Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data:
Fort recorded the highest rainfall at 74 mm
Bandra followed with 62 mm
Malabar Hill received 60 mm
Lower Parel recorded 58 mm
Haji Ali saw 57 mm
Matunga registered 56 mm
Grant Road and Santacruz received 47 mm each
Dadar saw 41 mm
High Tide Timings Issued by BMC
The BMC has also issued a high tide alert, warning citizens to stay cautious near coastal areas. The tide timings are as follows:
High Tide - 3:31 PM (15:31 hrs) - 4.21 meters
Low Tide - 9:41 PM (21:41 hrs) - 1.86 meters
High Tide - 3:31 AM (June 17) - 3.44 meters
Low Tide - 9:10 AM (June 17) - 1.33 meters
The BMC advised Mumbaikars to avoid seafronts during high tide hours and to take precautions in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

The IMD forecasts a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of heavy rainfall at a few places across Mumbai city and its suburbs for the rest of the day.
