Maharashtra Election: Shinde Sena's Bhausaheb Kamble Enters Fray From Shrirampur Seat

In June 2022, Eknath Shinde rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray, gaining the support of 40 MLAs and eight ministers.

With backing from the BJP, Shinde became Chief Minister and led the state effectively for nearly two and a half years. During this period, he completed various developmental projects and infrastructure initiatives with dedication.

It wasn't only Shiv Sena's MLAs, MPs, representatives, and office-bearers who joined Shinde; leaders and representatives from other parties also showed their complete confidence in his leadership.

Leaders from Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) began to gravitate toward Shinde. As the election approached, numerous BJP leaders, including former and current MLAs, also joined Shiv Sena under Shinde's leadership.

In the recent Lok Sabha elections, Shinde's Shiv Sena achieved a significant strike rate, even outperforming Uddhav Thackeray's faction. Shinde also made inroads into Thackeray's strongholds in Thane, Konkan, and northwest Mumbai, raising his flag in these areas. One leader who placed his trust in Shinde's leadership is Bhausaheb Kamble.

Kamble: Twice MLA from Shrirampur

Bhausaheb Kamble, a former MLA from Shrirampur assembly constituency in Ahilyanagar district, joined Shiv Sena under Shinde's leadership. Kamble, who was previously with Congress, had won the Shrirampur constituency in both 2009 and 2014. After joining Shiv Sena, Shinde nominated him to contest from Shrirampur constituency.

Bridge Construction on Pravara River

During his tenure, Shinde accelerated infrastructure development across the state, irrespective of constituency affiliations. In Shrirampur, several important projects were also undertaken. Pravara, a key river in Shrirampur, supports the area's economy. A 120-meter-long and nine-meter-wide bridge has been constructed over the river between Lakh Kanhegav and Padhegav, costing ₹12 crore. This bridge has greatly facilitated travel for residents on both sides of the river.

Establishment of Passport Office

The passport office has become essential for those aspiring to go abroad. Due to a limited number of passport offices, there was often a delay in acquiring passports. Following central government policies, a passport office was established in Shrirampur constituency, significantly easing access for residents seeking international travel. Additionally, a town planning office was set up in Shrirampur this year, marking another critical project now serving the people of Shrirampur.

Construction of Yoga Bhavan

To provide high-quality and modern facilities to students, digital boards were installed in district schools across 86 villages within the Shrirampur constituency. Children from economically disadvantaged families now have access to advanced educational resources through these boards. Given the growing importance of yoga, Yoga Bhavans were constructed at a cost of ₹80 lakh, with additional street lighting installations. Plans to build five more Yoga Bhavans are in place, and these will be completed shortly.

Implementation of Other Schemes

One of Shinde's significant schemes, "Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahini Yojana", has been implemented effectively in nearly all constituencies in Maharashtra, including Shrirampur. Many women in Shrirampur have benefited from this scheme. Shinde has also emphasised the implementation of individual and agricultural schemes, resulting in more beneficiaries in the Shrirampur constituency.
