Agra Horror: Wife Allegedly Kills Husband, Skeleton Recovered After 45 Days From Bathroom

A missing persons case in the Agra region of Uttar Pradesh has assumed an alarming dimension after the bones of a man were found buried under the floor of the bathroom of his own house by the police. His wife, Ruby, has been arrested after she confessed to killing her husband, Surendra Sharma, and hiding his body in their own home.

Police said the family members had been looking for Surendra for around 45 days thinking that he was missing before the reality was revealed.

Confession by the Wife Regarding the Murder

This case occurred in the Sikandra area of Agra.

As per the police, Surendra Sharma was jobless and used to be addicted to alcohol. It is alleged that he used to come back home drunk and beat up his wife.

While being interrogated, Ruby admitted that she was subjected to domestic violence for a very long time. She allegedly killed her husband after being attacked one day on May 26.

Police said she later buried his body in a pit dug beneath the bathroom floor in an attempt to hide the crime.

Missing Complaint Triggered Police Investigation

Following the disappearance of Surendra, his brother Anil Sharma lodged a missing person's report with the police station located in Sikandra.

For many weeks, the police searched for evidence without even knowing that the dead body of the victim was supposedly dumped in the same house.
The search continued until some new facts were uncovered and brought the police back to the same house.

Confession Changed the Direction of the Case

As per police sources, the officers had already paid a visit to the house of the family on Thursday during the course of investigation into the missing person case and then left.
That evening, Ruby is said to have admitted to her mother-in-law that her husband had not disappeared; rather he was dead and that his body was buried within the premises of the house.

Immediately after hearing this, the brother of the deceased informed the police, who came back to the house and arrested Ruby.

Skeleton Found on Bathroom Floor

Taking leads from what the woman said during the interrogation process, the police dug up the floor of the bathroom.

Human skeleton believed to belong to Surendra Sharma was found.
Once all formalities were completed, the remains were handed over for a post-mortem analysis.

Police have sealed the house and are continuing their investigation.
