Maharashtra Election: Mahayuti Govt Brings Record Investments In Sambhaji Nagar

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar city, as well as the district, is highly significant for Maharashtra. Situated in the central region of the state, this city could be considered the capital of Marathwada.

It serves not only as an industrial hub but also as a centre for various movements.

Numerous movements and campaigns that have guided Maharashtra originated from this city. Industrially, the city holds a prominent place, with many reputed companies establishing their production centres here, providing substantial employment opportunities to the youth of the city, district, and surrounding areas. The city also attracts a large influx of people from nearby districts due to its healthcare facilities.

Historically, the city and district have been strongholds for the Shiv Sena and the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance, with notable support except for a few instances. Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thackeray had a special fondness for this city, and current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has also given particular importance to the city and district. Eknath Shinde has been actively promoting industrial investment here to enhance employment opportunities.

Toyota Kirloskar's Rs 20,000 Crore Investment

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar has an industrial environment, with many companies establishing their production units in its industrial zones. Various industries are keen to invest here. Under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, the ruling government has entered into an agreement with the Toyota Kirloskar Group, which will invest Rs 20,000 crore in the city. This investment is expected to generate 8,000 direct and 12,000 indirect job opportunities. This venture in the automobile sector holds immense importance for the state's economic growth.

Ather Energy to Invest Rs 2,000 Crore

Energy and energy-related industries are crucial for the state's rapid development. Recognising this, Eknath Shinde's government has prioritised investments in the energy sector. Ather Energy has entered into an agreement to invest Rs 2,000 crore in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and the company is set to establish its project on Bidkin Road.

Amrut Scheme with Rs 811 Crore Investment

Though Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar is an industrial city, it has long struggled with water supply issues. Unlike the western Maharashtra cities where water supply projects were implemented swiftly, this city lagged behind. To ensure clean water reaches every household, the Amrut scheme is being implemented here, with pipelines being laid across the city. The government aims to ensure an ample supply of potable water to every household, and an investment of Rs 811 crore has been allocated for this project.

Electric Bus Depot

The issue of carbon emissions is a global concern. Rising carbon emissions have led to global warming, presenting a challenge to all nations. Electric vehicles are a viable solution, and efforts are being made to ensure that public transport buses are electric. In line with this, an electric bus depot has been set up at Jadhavwadi. Electric vehicles are being procured through central government assistance, with an investment of ₹150 crore.

Plans for a Modern Stadium

Marathwada is known for its hardworking youth, particularly those actively participating in military and police recruitment drives. Although the youth here possess a natural athletic talent, they often face limited guidance and a lack of sports facilities, restricting their progress in sports. Recognising this, the coalition government under Eknath Shinde has taken steps to improve sports infrastructure.

Local Guardian Minister Abdul Sattar and Sports Minister Sanjay Bansode have deliberated on this and decided to establish a grand sports complex in the city. The proposal to construct stadiums at Amkhas Maidan and Garkheda has been submitted to the sports ministry, as directed by both ministers. Previously used for gatherings and events, these areas will soon be transformed into modern sports facilities for local youth.

City Transformation

Significant funding has been allocated by Eknath Shinde's government to revitalise Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. ₹100 crore has been allotted by the state government for the Beed Bypass Road, and roads in the Deoli area have been upgraded. The seven to eight-kilometre stretch from Jhalta Phata to Sambhaji Nagar station has been modernised, with underground roads enhancing the city's landscape. Internal roads are being paved with cement concrete, and various projects like the construction of the Shiv Statue, auditoriums, domes, and road improvements have brought a new aesthetic to the city.

In summary, the coalition government led by Eknath Shinde has actively pursued the all-round development of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar city and district, focusing on investments in sports, education, and industry. Once these projects envisioned by Shinde are completed, substantial job opportunities will emerge in the city, eliminating the need for youth from the district and Marathwada to seek employment in Pune or Mumbai.
