The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for various regions in Maharashtra, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in the coming days.

Amravati: The area is expected to experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated places.

Pune and Satara: In the ghat areas, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places, while light to moderate rain is expected in the plains.

Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Jalna, and Parbhani: These districts may experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h at isolated locations.

Akola, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal: Thunderstorms with lightning are forecasted at isolated places across these regions.

In Mumbai, the temperature will range between 27 and 31 degrees Celsius. The city will witness a generally cloudy sky accompanied by moderate rainfall. Mumbai is expected to experience a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain over the next few days.

September 6: A slight dip in temperature is expected, ranging between 26 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. The city will experience moderate rainfall with generally cloudy skies.

September 7: The temperature will remain steady between 26 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. The forecast indicates rain throughout the day.

September 8: Similar conditions will persist, with temperatures between 26 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius and rainfall expected across the city.

Mumbai Lakes Water Level Today

The water levels in Mumbai's seven reservoirs, which supply the city with drinking water, have reached 96.93 per cent, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday morning.

The BMC data shows that the total water stock in these lakes currently stands at 14,02,999 million litres, which is 96.93 per cent of their full capacity.

Mumbai receives its water from the lakes of Tulsi, Tansa, Vihar, Bhatsa, Modak Sagar, Upper Vaitarna, and Middle Vaitarna.

As reported by the BMC, the water levels in these lakes are as follows: Tansa at 98.24 per cent, Modak Sagar at 98.78 per cent, Middle Vaitarna at 98.99 per cent, Upper Vaitarna at 97.03 per cent, Bhatsa at 95.60 per cent, and both Vihar and Tulsi at 100 per cent.
