Ganesh Chaturthi will occur on the Chaturthi tithi of Shukla Paksha, beginning on Saturday, September 7. The Ganesh Visarjan, or immersion of the idol, is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17. The puja muhurrat for Ganesh Chaturthi will be from 11:03 am to 1:34 pm.

The popularity of Ganesh Chaturthi among the masses grew significantly when freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak revived the celebration in Maharashtra, transforming it into a ten-day event.
