Eat Fish Daily For Aishwarya Rai-Like Eyes: BJP Leader Triggers A Controversy [Watch]

A BJP minister from Maharashtra has stirred up a controversy by drawing a connection between consuming fish daily and possessing eyes as captivating as those of Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai.

Maharashtra tribal minister Vijaykumar Gavit made the statement at an event in Nandurbar district. The video of him making those remarks has now gone viral.

"People who consume fish on a daily basis develop smooth skin and their eyes sparkle. If anyone looks at you, the person will get attracted (towards you). "Did I tell you about Aishwarya Rai? She lived near the seashore in Mangaluru. She would consume fish daily. Have you seen her eyes? You will also have eyes like her," PTI quoted the minister as saying.

Elaborating his statement, he added, "The fish contain some oils, it makes your skin smooth,"

It has to be noted that the 68-year-old minister's daughter Heena Gavit is a BJP Lok Sabha member.

Meanwhile, NCP legislator Amol Mitkari has slammed said the minister's remarks and said that he should focus on issues faced by tribals, instead of making such "frivolous" comments.

BJP MLA Nitesh Rane said, "I eat fish daily. My eyes should have become like that (like those of Aishwarya Rai). I will ask Gavit sahib if there is any research on this."
