After Delhi And Bengaluru, Mumbai School Gets Bomb Threat; Police Launch Probe

On July 18, 2025, Swami Vivekanand International School in Kandivali, Mumbai, received a bomb threat via email, just hours after similar threats created widespread panic across Delhi and Bengaluru. Following the threat, Mumbai Police and bomb disposal squads conducted a thorough sweep of the school premises. No explosives or suspicious objects were found, and officials have since declared the threat to be a hoax.

Nationwide Threat Pattern Emerges

Authorities revealed that several other schools in Mumbai were also targeted with similar threatening emails on the same day, raising alarms among school administrators and parents. Earlier that morning, over 60 schools across India-approximately 40 in Bengaluru and 20 in Delhi-reported receiving almost identical emails containing bomb threats and violent language. The messages led to emergency evacuations, significant disruption, and widespread concern.

Police Investigation and Security Measures

Cybercrime units are investigating whether these threats are part of a larger, coordinated hoax campaign. Teams are working to trace the origin of the emails and determine if there is a link to past incidents of similar nature. So far, no explosive devices have been discovered at any of the affected schools in Mumbai, Delhi, or Bengaluru.

In response to the threats, security protocols have been strengthened at educational institutions across these cities. Law enforcement has assured the public that investigations are underway at both central and state levels to track down the culprits.

Appeal for Calm

Police have urged parents and the general public to remain calm, refrain from circulating unverified information, and rely on official sources for updates. Authorities also emphasized the psychological toll these false alarms can have on children, staff, and families, underlining the seriousness of the ongoing probe.

The investigation continues as agencies collaborate to prevent further panic and bring those responsible to justice.
