Rape victim made to strip, humiliated by cop in Lucknow

, Sept 25: She looked out for help from the men in khaki but instead ended up being stripped and humiliated in front of them.

A 14-year-old girl, who approached a senior police officer in eastern Uttar Pradesh to file a rape complaint, was allegedly asked to strip and was humiliated, reports suggest. The girl had gone on Saturday to the police station to file a complaint against a local resident , who had allegedly raped her.

Once in the station, the station in-charge , Jais Raj Yadav made her strip claiming to check if she was actually sexually assaulted or not.

"He took me to a room and closed the door behind. He then asked me to remove my clothes," the girl said. The cop then abused the girl and her parents and sent them away without filing an FIR.

The family then approached a senior cop with the area's circle officer and finally their complaint was registered and the accused was arested. The police officials say that a probe has been ordered against the cop.
