Ketan's Crushed Skull, Siya Kept Calm; Phone Chats Deleted Before And After Incident: Police, Rescuer

As the investigation on the Keta Agarwal murder case is on, fresh details have emerged in the investigation into the death of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal, with a member of the rescue team describing the condition in which his body was found at Lohagad Fort.

Meanwhile, investigators claim both accused-Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary-deleted phone chats before and after the incident, a development that has become an important part of the ongoing probe.

Ketan Agarwal died on June 18 after falling into a deep gorge at Lohagad Fort in Maharashtra. While the incident was initially treated as an accidental fall, Pune Rural Police are now investigating it as a suspected murder. Ketan's fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, have been arrested in connection with the case.

Rescuer Recalls Finding Ketan's Body

Sunil Gaikwad, a member of the rescue team that recovered Ketan's body, spoke about the operation and the injuries he observed.

According to Gaikwad, the rescue team found Ketan lying in the gorge with severe head injuries.

Speaking to ANI, he said the victim had a crushed skull and multiple bruises on his limbs.
He added that Ketan had already died by the time rescuers reached him.
The recovery operation was challenging because of the steep terrain and dense forest surrounding the fort.

Rescue Operation Lasted Several Hours

Gaikwad said the police received information about the incident at around 10:30 am.
The rescue operation continued for nearly two hours before the team managed to retrieve the body from the gorge.

According to him, the body was finally handed over to the ambulance at around 1:30 pm.
He also recalled that carrying the body through the rocky forest path was physically demanding due to the difficult landscape.

Rescuer Claims Siya Appeared Calm

Gaikwad also described the atmosphere at the accident site.
He claimed that while family members and others present appeared visibly distressed and emotional, Siya Goyal seemed unusually calm during the recovery operation.
According to his account, she remained composed while others around her were crying and panicking.

These observations are part of witness statements and have not been independently verified in court.

Police Probe Deleted Chats

As the investigation progresses, police say they have uncovered evidence suggesting that both accused attempted to erase digital records.

According to investigators, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary allegedly deleted their phone chat history both before and after June 18, the day Ketan died.
Police further claim that chats were removed from the recycle bins of their mobile phones, indicating an alleged attempt to permanently erase conversations.

Investigators are now working with digital forensic experts to recover the deleted data.

More Than 2,000 Phone Calls Under Scanner

Police claim that Siya and Chetan remained in regular contact for nearly six months before the incident.

According to the investigation, the two allegedly exchanged 2,004 phone calls, spending nearly 238 hours speaking to each other.

Call records and digital evidence are now being analysed to establish the sequence of events leading up to Ketan's death.

Café Meeting Before the Incident

Investigators are also examining a meeting that allegedly took place a day before Ketan's death. According to police, Siya and Chetan met at a café in Pune's Kondhwa area on June 17.

The meeting reportedly lasted for over 90 minutes and was captured on CCTV cameras.
Police suspect the meeting may have been used to discuss the events that followed, although this claim remains part of the ongoing investigation.

Brother's Statement Part of Investigation

Police have also questioned Siya's brother, Sahil Goyal, for more than 10 hours.
According to investigators, Sahil told police that he had known about Siya's relationship with Chetan for several months.

Police sources claim he advised his sister to end the relationship because she was already engaged to Ketan Agarwal.

Investigators are examining whether any family members noticed signs that could help explain the events leading up to the incident.

Pune Rural Police continue to examine CCTV footage, call records, forensic evidence and witness statements as they build their case.
