Scholarship Distribution Event in Lucknow
The scholarship distribution programme will be held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow, where eligible students will receive financial assistance under schemes run by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Minority Welfare Department and Social Welfare Department. A large gathering of students and their parents is expected to attend the event, which is being jointly organised by the three departments.
Officials have confirmed that the beneficiary list has already been finalised and all arrangements are in place to ensure smooth transfer of funds. Departmental ministers attending the programme will also highlight key achievements and progress made by their respective departments.
Funds to Be Credited Directly to Bank Accounts
The programme will formally begin at 4:30 pm and will cover pre-matric students of classes 9 and 10, post-matric students of classes 11 and 12, as well as those pursuing higher education. District Social Welfare Officer Vashishtha Narayan Singh said the event will be broadcast live across all educational institutions in the district so that students can witness the proceedings together.
He added that the scholarship amount will be transferred directly to Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts of eligible students. Along with the financial assistance, students will also receive scholarship approval certificates as official confirmation of the benefit.
Government Focus on Student Welfare and Inclusion
The scholarship drive reflects the state government's continued emphasis on education and inclusive growth. By ensuring direct benefit transfer, the administration aims to provide timely financial support while maintaining transparency in the process.
The presence of students and their families at the event is also intended to build trust and awareness around welfare schemes, especially among marginalised and economically weaker sections.
CM Reviews Budget Proposals for 2026-27
A day ahead of the scholarship programme, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the state's budget proposals for the financial year 2026-27. Speaking during the meeting, he said, "In the past nearly nine years, the state has made solid progress in development, security and prosperity," adding that public expectations from the government have grown significantly.
He further stressed that "meeting public aspirations is the government's highest priority" and directed officials to ensure that the upcoming budget remains centred on public welfare. According to the Chief Minister, "bringing positive change in the lives of the poor, farmers, workers, women, youth and the marginalised sections should be the soul of the budget."
Officials said the meeting included detailed discussions on budget proposals of departments under the Chief Minister and ministers of state with independent charge, along with new demands and the state's approach in the context of the Union Budget 2026-27.
