'Rehearsal' Done To Kill Ketan Agarwal? Pune Police Probe Fresh Conspiracy Angle

Pune Rural Police have shifted murder suspect Siya Goyal to a location close to Lullanagar during the course of their investigation into the murder of her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, who is believed to be murdered by being pushed off the Lohagad Fort cliffs on June 18.

Investigators believe the spot was used by Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary to rehearse the act before the incident.

Goyal, 20, and Chaudhary, 22, have been arrested in the case and remain in police custody until July 3. Police allege that the two planned the killing because Agarwal, a 25-year-old realtor, had become an obstacle to their relationship. Agarwal and Goyal were engaged and were expected to marry in November.

Revisited Rehearsal Spot In Ketan Agarwal Murder Case

It should be noted that the police took the accused persons to the important places connected to the alleged conspiracy. Thus, Goyal was made to visit an open area near a club in Lullanagar, where police claims that Goyal and Chaudhary allegedly practiced throwing Agarwal from a certain height at the Lohagad Fort.

The representative of the Pune Rural Police said that Goyal pointed out the place during the visit. The importance of such a demonstration is clear - in addition to establishing the facts regarding what happened in the fort, the police want to find out if the whole action was a result of some planning. This allows the police to compare their information and the information gathered during the investigation.

It was also reported that the police seized the clothes allegedly worn by Goyal on June 18 when Agarwal died. The clothes were found in the house of Goyal in the Market Yard area of Pune.

The recovery comes after police carried out separate reconstruction exercises involving both accused. On Wednesday, the crime scene was recreated with Chaudhary at Lohagad Fort. Earlier, a similar exercise was conducted with Goyal, during which a dummy was pushed off the cliff in her presence to understand the sequence of events.

What's the fresh allegation?

It was reported that Goyal and Chaudhary enticed Agarwal to Lohagad Fort and threw him off from the fort's cliff. Lohagad Fort, situated in Pune district, is known as one of the trekkers' and tourists' hot spots, particularly in the monsoon season due to its rocky terrain.

Investigators have looked into the issue of whether the accused had chosen such place after studying its locality or not. The rehearsal near Lullanagar by the accused plays an essential role in this investigation. If the allegation holds true in light of other pieces of evidence, it will become easy to prove that the act was pre-planned.

Various news sources have mentioned the fact that the police are making efforts to get permission to conduct polygraph tests on Goyal and Chaudhary. Polygraph test, also known as lie detector test, is not carried out without any procedure and permission of the person taking the test.

The police case is also relying on statements from Agarwal's family. In his complaint, Ketan Agarwal's father, Vishal Agarwal, reportedly said his son had repeatedly expressed concern over Goyal's closeness to Chaudhary. He alleged that Agarwal had noticed Goyal mentioning Chaudhary frequently during their conversations.

Relationship angle under scrutiny

Police are investigating the personal relationship between the three as a possible motive. According to investigators, Goyal and Chaudhary were allegedly in a relationship, while Goyal's engagement with Agarwal had already been fixed. The planned wedding in November has become a key part of the background being examined by police.

Investigators have also alleged that Goyal had earlier created trouble over a planned pre-wedding trip to Bali, Indonesia. Police are looking at whether disputes before the wedding had intensified tensions between Agarwal and Goyal. These details are being assessed alongside call records, witness statements and the accused persons' versions of events.
