US state dept raises concerns of human rights violations in PoK
Washington, Aug 23: The US state department on Wednesday expressed concerns over the human rights violations in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
"We have always been urging all parties in Pakistan to work out their differences peacefully," the US said. Further it also said that a solution to the problems in PoK must be found through a valid political process.

The statement by the US state department comes in the wake of large scale protests in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The people of PoK have been raising concerns over human rights violations apart from accusing Pakistan of rigging the recently held elections.
State Department, Deputy Spokesperson, Mark Toner said at a news conference that they have concerns about the human rights violations in PoK and the same had been reported several years back in the Human Rights report.
"We are always urging all parties in Pakistan to work out their differences peaceably and through a valid political process," he said.
When reporters questioned Toner about Kashmir, he refused to comment elaborately, but added that their policy on this issue is well known.
