US: Gunman opens fire near University of South Carolina

Earlier, the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spatanburg issued a Twitter alert warning of shots being fired, with four buildings on campus placed on lockdown. That lockdown was later lifted.

According to Spartanburg County Sheriff's Lt. Kevin Bobo said that the shooting happened at an apartment complex next to the school's campus injuring one person.

Police said the suspect who is on run is a black male wearing khaki pants, grey hoodies and is carrying an automatic weapon. Meanwhile, no arrests have been reported so far.
