Trump projected to win three states, Clinton wins Maryland

Washington, Apr 27: Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump posted victories in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Connecticut primaries, while Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton won in Maryland, according to media projections today.

Presidential primaries were also held in the states of Rhode Island and Delaware. Republican party results in Rhode Island were close to call, media reports said.

Wins in the five-state East Coast primaries are expected to give a big boost to Trump's White House ambitions. But he would still fall a few hundred delegates short of the magical 1237 delegates required to bag the GOP presidential nomination.
