Sonakshi Sinha Breaks Silence On Sonam Wangchuk's Hunger Strike, Says, 'I'm Not Anti-National, I Can't Stay..'

It is crucial to note that for 19 days Sonam Wangchuk has been on a hunger strike at Delhi Jantar Mantra and his health is serious. He has urged his supporters to not ask him to end his fast but urge the government to have a dialogue with him.

However, amid several supporters, actor Sonakshi Sinha has also publicly expressed her support for education reform activist and engineer Sonam Wangchuk who has been on a hunger strike.

Sharing a video message on Instagram, she questioned why no one from the government responded to his protest. Sonakshi's statement comes as several public figures continue to react to Wangchuk's ongoing fast, which has sparked discussions across social media and among his supporters.

Sonakshi Says She Could No Longer Remain Silent

In her video message, Sonakshi admitted that she does not usually make public statements on such matters but this time she felt that it is necessary to speak.

She began by saying, "Aaj mujhse raha nahi jaa raha," adding that everyone knows who Sonam Wangchuk is and the contribution he has made to the country through his work and achievements.

She highlighted that Wangchuk has been fasting for 19 days and questioned why there has been no dialogue. She added that Wangchuk is protesting for the bright future of the children and raising issues will get a long term solution.

Questions Lack of Response

The actor further questioned why there has been no one willing to initiate a conversation and she also made it clear that speaking about this issue does not make her anti-national. She is seeking the country to progress and believes citizens should be able to speak.

Refuses to Ask Wangchuk to End His Fast

In the video message she refused to ask Sonam Wangchuk to end his fast but questioned how long the issue will be ignored from the government end and who will be responsible if something happens.

She expressed concern over his health and appealed for meaningful dialogue before the situation becomes more serious.Sonakshi's video rapidly gained views where several people were praising her about speaking on this topic.

Although he was on a hunger strike, Sonam Wangchuk stated that he was taking care of himself and was equally resolved to go ahead with his protest. He requested people not to pressurize him to call off his fasting but support him through joining the peaceful march to Parliament on July 20.
