Texas Boy, 9, Ducks For Cover As Bullets Smash Through Window: Horrifying Video | Watch

A frightening video depicting a Texas boy ducking for cover as bullets from a drive-by shooting smashed through the window of his apartment has surfaced. Nine-year-old Errol Hill is considered lucky to be alive after narrowly escaping the bullets.

In the video, the child is seen climbing onto the couch in his house's living room, accompanied by his dog, around 7:30 pm. Suddenly, he is seen recoiling in fear and ducking for cover as dust and smoke erupt through the front window. His startled dog also appears visibly scared. Hill seeks cover behind what appears to be a washing machine.

"It came through the wall," Hill told NBC 5. "I thought it was just fireworks, but when I heard the screams, I looked outside." The shooting occurred on May 1, resulting in injuries to six people, including four children. The incident took place at the Miramar apartment complex in Fort Worth. According to local reports, the victims ranged in age from 3 to 19, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Hill's head was narrowly missed by a hail of bullets. The child waited until the shots subsided before running to his mother, Mary Jane Gonzales, a medical assistant, in the next room. She examined Hill and two other children to ensure their safety. Gonzales then heard neighbours screaming downstairs and rushed to help, only to discover that six people had been shot.

Gonzales did her best to stop the bleeding of her neighbours. As a result of her injuries, a three-year-old child had to undergo kidney removal. "That one was really hard for me," Gonzales said. "Seeing her going in and out of consciousness." Gonzales disclosed that the incident had a lasting impact on her and her family, and they wish to move out of the apartment where they have resided for the past four years, as reported by Hindustan Times.

"It forever changed our life. We are traumatized," she said. "I've never seen anyone get shot, let alone a child." Fort Worth Police reported that one of the victims, sustaining a minor injury, declined treatment at the scene, while the others were rushed to hospitals. Their conditions remain unknown at present. No arrests have been made in connection with the case yet. Police have urged the public to share tips at 817-392-4222.
