Tesla Cybertruck Explodes Outside Trump Hotel In Las Vegas

A Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, resulting in one fatality and seven injuries. The electric vehicle was parked at the hotel's entrance when a significant explosion occurred, according to Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill. Video footage captured the stainless steel truck igniting into flames, followed by smaller explosions resembling fireworks.

Tesla's CEO Elon Musk stated that the explosion was due to "very large fireworks and/or a bomb" in the rented Cybertruck's bed. He clarified on X that it was "unrelated to the vehicle itself." Musk also mentioned that Tesla's senior team is investigating, noting, "We've never seen anything like this." The cause of the explosion remains under investigation by police.

Explosion Investigation and Response

President Joe Biden has been informed about the incident and instructed his team to provide any necessary federal assistance. The White House confirmed this directive. Biden had earlier received updates on a separate car-ramming attack in New Orleans that resulted in at least 10 fatalities on Wednesday.

Sheriff McMahill mentioned the New Orleans attack but did not directly connect it to the Las Vegas explosion. He emphasized that local authorities are taking all necessary precautions to ensure community safety. As a precautionary measure, the hotel was evacuated following the incident.

Elon Musk's Involvement

Musk, who supported Trump during the November election and was appointed by him to lead a commission aimed at reducing government spending, promised to share more details as they become available. His involvement highlights his ongoing connection with political figures and his proactive approach in addressing incidents involving Tesla vehicles.
