Taliban Shoots Dead 10 Pakistani Policemen At Check Post Near Afghan Border
Ten police officers were killed in an attack on a checkpoint near the Afghan border on Friday, with the Pakistan Taliban claiming responsibility.
AFP cited a senior intelligence official who stated, "The intense exchange of fire lasted for nearly an hour. Ten Frontier Constabulary personnel were martyred, and seven were wounded during the attack."

The incident took place in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where around 20 to 25 militants attacked a Frontier Constabulary post, which acts as a police support force.
In a statement to AFP, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistan Taliban, claimed responsibility for the assault.
Militant activity has been on the rise in Pakistan since the Afghan Taliban assumed power in 2021, with attacks largely directed at security forces. Police in this region are frequently targeted by militants.
