BMW Z4 Torn Apart In Deadly Highway Crash In Badlapur, Two Killed Returning From Birthday Party, Probe On

A high-speed crash on the Mumbai-Vadodara Highway claimed the lives of two people and left another seriously injured after a luxury BMW Z4 sports car lost control and slammed into a divider in the early hours of Sunday.

The accident occurred near Badlapur in Maharashtra and was so severe that the vehicle was completely destroyed. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances that led to the crash, including whether alcohol consumption played a role.

Accident Took Place Around 3 AM

According to police, the BMW was travelling from Titwala towards Badlapur when the accident took place at around 3 am.

Preliminary reports suggest that the car was moving at an extremely high speed, reportedly around 250 kmph, when the driver lost control. The vehicle crashed into a divider and overturned, causing catastrophic damage.

Eyewitnesses described the impact as extremely violent, saying debris from the car was scattered across the road.

Two Occupants Die on the Spot

The victims have been identified as Yogesh Dighe and Rikeba Jakap, both residents of Badlapur.

Due to the intensity of the collision, both occupants died on the spot. Witnesses reported that the crash was so devastating that body parts were found scattered several metres away from the accident site.

The bodies were later shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examinations.

Third Passenger Undergoing Treatment

A third occupant, identified as Anand, survived the crash but sustained serious injuries.
He was rushed to a private hospital in Thane, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Hospital authorities have not yet released detailed information regarding his condition.

Police are monitoring his recovery and are expected to record his statement once his health permits.

Returning From a Birthday Celebration

Initial investigations indicate that the three occupants were returning from a birthday party when the accident occurred.

Police are trying to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the crash and are examining whether speeding alone caused the accident or whether other factors were involved.

Officials have not ruled out the possibility of alcohol consumption and are awaiting further evidence and forensic findings.
