False claims about US President Donald Trump's death circulated widely across social media on Saturday, August 30, leading to a spike in Google searches such as "Is Trump dead?" and "Trump is dead."

The speculation, however, lacks any official confirmation. The White House has not provided any statement regarding an emergency involving the President.

Trump's Recent Appearances

Trump was last seen publicly on August 24 at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia with former baseball pitcher Roger Clemens, followed by a televised cabinet meeting on August 26. His official schedule did not list any public events over the weekend.

Despite these rumours, Trump remained active on his platform Truth Social, where he posted as recently as Saturday morning, criticising a US court ruling on his tariffs.

Health Concerns in Focus

Speculation about Trump's health intensified after images circulated showing a bruise on his right hand and swelling in his ankles. While the White House has not commented on the bruising, a letter issued last month confirmed that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency, a condition associated with age and prolonged standing.

The rumours were further fueled by remarks from Vice President JD Vance during a USA Today interview. Vance said he was "ready to take over" in the event of a "terrible tragedy," while also stating that Trump was in "great health." He added that his experience over the past 200 days had prepared him for any such eventuality.
