Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Under Investigation for Allegedly Taking Dead Whale's Head Home
A federal law enforcement agency has initiated an investigation into Robert F. Kennedy Jr. This inquiry stems from an incident two decades ago when he allegedly removed the head of a deceased whale and took it home. Kennedy, who previously ran as an independent presidential candidate, revealed this development while campaigning for Donald Trump near Phoenix.

Kennedy's daughter, Kathleen, recounted the whale incident in a 2012 interview with Town and Country magazine. The story recently resurfaced on social media. She recalled that when she was six, her father learned about a dead whale on the shore. He used a chainsaw to remove its head and secured it to their minivan's roof for a five-hour journey home.
Investigation Details and Agency Response
The National Marine Fisheries Service confirmed the investigation on Monday but did not provide further details. The agency is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and is responsible for enforcing laws like the Marine Mammal Protection Act and the Endangered Species Act.
During his campaign stop in Glendale, Arizona, Kennedy mentioned receiving a letter about the investigation into his collection of a whale specimen 20 years ago. He did not confirm or deny taking the whale head but suggested that the statute of limitations for charges had expired.
Kennedy's Response to Media Inquiries
When reporters questioned him after his appearance, Kennedy declined to discuss the investigation further. He stated that he was uninterested in engaging with what he termed "gossipy nonsense" from mainstream media. "I'm not interested in feeding that feature of the mainstream media," Kennedy remarked.
Kennedy implied, without providing evidence, that the investigation might be linked to his support for Trump. This suggestion came as he addressed Trump supporters during his campaign event.
Past Incidents Involving Dead Animals
This whale incident adds to a series of unusual events involving Kennedy and deceased animals. Last month, he claimed to have once moved a bear killed by a car into New York's Central Park, leaving it with a bicycle on top. This act sparked curiosity in the city over ten years ago.
The peculiar nature of these incidents continues to draw public attention. However, Kennedy remains focused on his political activities and endorsements rather than addressing these past events in detail.
