Blast in Lahore park area: 65 dead, 300 injured
Lahore, March 27: Sixty-five people, including women and children, were killed in a blast here on Sunday evening. Three-hundred people were injured in the explosion, sources in Pakistan said. [Pak Taliban faction claims responsibility]
The explosion took place in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park area where many people had assembled on Sunday evening, officials said.

Police authorities said it appeared to be a suicide bomb.
It was suspected that Christian families celebrating the Easter weekend could have been the target.

All major hospitals in the area have been put on an emergency footing to treat the injured, local media reports said. They were also seeking blood donation.
It seems the explosion occurred at the main gate of the park, near the car parking lot.
