The latest round of speculation originated from unverified reports shared by Afghanistan Times and social media handles including the so-called "Ministry of Foreign Affairs Baluchistan." These accounts alleged that Khan had died due to mistreatment in custody and that his body had been moved out of Adiala Jail. The reports quickly spread online, echoing similar false claims from May 2025 that suggested Khan had been shot or assaulted in prison.

Pakistani authorities dismissed the rumours as baseless, pointing out that several posts circulating online relied on old hospital photographs recycled to fuel misinformation. Despite the official rejection, the claims triggered protests by PTI supporters outside the jail, demanding transparency.

Family Raises Alarm

Family concerns intensified after Khan's three sisters were reportedly assaulted by police during a protest seeking permission to meet him. According to the family, they have not been allowed a visit for more than two weeks, a restriction that has deepened speculation about his wellbeing.
