Iran's Missile Attack On Israel: Indian Embassy Issues Advisory For Citizens
The conflict in the Middle East has escalated as Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles at Israel. This attack follows the Israeli military's recent airstrike in Beirut, which resulted in the deaths of several Hezbollah leaders, including Hassan Nasrallah. Iran's Revolutionary Guards have claimed responsibility for the missile launch, warning that any retaliation from Israel would be met with a "more crushing and ruinous" response.

Indian Embassy Issues Advisory
In light of these developments, the Indian embassy in Israel has advised all Indian citizens to remain cautious and follow safety protocols set by local authorities. The embassy urged individuals to avoid unnecessary travel and stay near safety shelters. They are actively monitoring the situation and maintaining communication with Israeli authorities to ensure the safety of approximately 18,000 Indian nationals residing in Israel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently discussed the crisis with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Modi emphasised that terrorism should not have a place in the world and stressed the importance of preventing regional escalation. He also called for the safe release of hostages and reiterated India's commitment to supporting efforts for peace and stability.
Iran's Response to Leadership Losses
Iran's missile attack was reportedly a reaction to last week's killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and a Hamas leader. The Revolutionary Guards stated that they had launched numerous missiles at Israel as part of their response. The situation remains tense, with both sides on high alert for further developments.
Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari has issued a stern warning to Iran regarding potential consequences for their actions. He stated that Israel is prepared to defend its citizens both defensively and offensively. Hagari added that any response from Israel would be executed at a time and place of their choosing.
Helpline Numbers Provided
To assist Indian nationals in Israel, the embassy has provided helpline numbers for those affected by the ongoing conflict. These measures aim to ensure that Indian citizens can access support during this challenging time.
