Iran Executes Four Men For Espionage: Convicted Of Spying For Mossad
Four men convicted of planning sabotage and alleged connections with Israel's Mossad secret service were executed in Iran, on Monday, as reported by state media.
According to the official IRNA news agency, the men were found guilty of planning to target a factory in 2022 owned by Iran's defense ministry, which is engaged in manufacturing missile and defense equipment in the central city of Isfahan.

Why Iran Executed Four Men?
The operation was allegedly orchestrated by Mossad, and the four individuals, namely Mohammad Faramarzi, Mohsen Mazloum, Vafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fatehi, were reportedly trained by the Israeli agency in an African country before entering Iran.
Their execution was carried out after their death sentences, initially handed down by another court in September, were upheld by the country's Supreme Court. The method of carrying out the death sentences was not specified in the report, but in Iran, executions are typically performed by hanging.
In 2022, a statement from Iran claimed that its intelligence agents dismantled a group linked to Mossad, alleging their involvement in planning terror operations within Iran. All members of the group were reportedly arrested, and a significant amount of weapons and explosives were confiscated. Periodically, Iran reports on the arrests, trials, and executions of its nationals accused of spying for Mossad and other Western intelligence services.
Last month, four individuals-three men and a woman-were executed, and several others were sentenced to prison for alleged links with Israel's Mossad security service, as reported by local media. In December, another man was executed on charges of releasing classified information to Mossad.
Accusations of spying and a shadow war have persisted between Iran and Israel for years. Israel considers Iran its greatest threat and has repeatedly threatened military action to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Iran denies seeking such weapons and has pledged a harsh response to any aggression.
In 2020, Iran executed a man convicted of leaking information to the United States and Israel about Qassim Soleimani, the head of Iran's elite Quds Force, who was killed by a U.S. drone strike in January that year.
Iran does not recognize Israel and supports anti-Israeli militant groups across the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, currently engaged in a conflict with Israel. Recently, a high-ranking Iranian general from the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard was killed by an alleged Israeli airstrike in Syria.
