‘Game’s Not Over’: Iran Confirms Enriched Uranium Safe, Nuclear Plans On Track
Iran's government has assured that it has implemented measures to sustain its nuclear programme following recent US and Israeli attacks. A close aide to Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated that the nation still possesses enriched uranium stocks. This comes amid global concerns about the location of this crucial nuclear material after US strikes on three Iranian facilities on June 21.
The US administration, led by Donald Trump, launched attacks on Iran's Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz uranium enrichment sites. Trump claimed these strikes "completely and totally obliterated" the targeted facilities using bunker buster bombs dropped by B-2 bombers. The strikes aimed to dismantle Iran's nuclear capabilities.

US Concerns Over Uranium Stockpile
Amidst worldwide uncertainty regarding the whereabouts of Iran's uranium, US officials have seemingly acknowledged that Tehran's stockpile remains unaccounted for. In an interview with ABC News, US Vice President JD Vance mentioned that the administration plans to address the situation in the coming weeks through discussions with Iran.
In another conversation with Fox News, Vance suggested that Iran's uranium might be buried beneath the three enrichment facilities targeted by the US over the weekend. He stated, "Our goal was to bury the uranium, and I do think the uranium is buried..." The US also aimed to eliminate this stockpile and prevent Iran from converting enriched fuel into a nuclear weapon.
Ceasefire Between Israel and Iran
On June 13, Israel attacked Iranian nuclear sites under Operation Rising Lion, targeting top military officials in what was considered a significant threat since Iran's war with Iraq in the 1980s. Israel justified these strikes as necessary to halt Iran's nuclear ambitions. In response, Iran launched missile attacks on Israel.
Trump joined the conflict on Saturday by striking Iranian nuclear sites using massive bombs not available to Israel. On Tuesday, Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran. He expressed optimism about its success and praised both nations for their resilience during what he referred to as 'THE 12 DAY WAR' on Truth Social.
The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation, Mohammad Eslami, confirmed that measures were taken to assess damage from these strikes. Plans for restarting affected facilities were prepared beforehand to ensure uninterrupted production and services. Eslami emphasised that their strategy is focused on maintaining continuity despite recent events.
