Did Astronomer Fire CEO Andy Byron, HR Head Kristin Cabot Over Coldplay Kiss Incident?

Astronomer, a software company based in New York, found itself in the limelight after its CEO, Andy Byron, and HR head, Kristin Cabot, were allegedly seen together at a Coldplay concert. The incident has sparked discussions online since Byron is reportedly married to Megan Kerrigan Byron. Former employees have expressed satisfaction over their "toxic" boss being exposed.

Following the incident, dubbed 'Coldplaygate,' Astronomer has reportedly placed both Byron and Cabot on leave. According to Axios sources, Byron might be negotiating an exit package as he considers resigning. In the interim, Pete DeJoy, co-founder and Chief Product Officer, has assumed the role of CEO.

Company's Response to Viral Video

Astronomer has initiated an investigation into the viral concert video. The company emphasised its commitment to maintaining values and culture since its inception. "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability," stated Astronomer in an official release shared on social media.

The company also addressed rumours involving a third employee. Alyssa Stoddard, Senior Director of People at Astronomer, was mistakenly identified as being present at the concert due to her "stunned expression" in the video. However, Astronomer clarified that Stoddard was not at the event.

Debunking Misinformation

Amidst the controversy, fake statements attributed to Byron circulated online but were debunked by the company. Astronomer confirmed that no other employees appeared in the video and that any reports suggesting otherwise were false. As of now, Byron has not issued any statement regarding his actions.

The unfolding events have led to heightened scrutiny of workplace relationships within companies. With investigations ongoing, more details are anticipated soon. Meanwhile, Astronomer's leadership transition continues as they navigate this challenging period.
