Cancel Israel and Hamas Ceasefire Deal If...: US Prez Donald Trump's Big Statement

US President Donald Trump stated that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas should end if hostages aren't freed by Saturday noon. He warned, "all hell is going to break out" if the militants don't comply. These remarks were made after he signed several executive orders in the Oval Office.

Trump's comments came amid his controversial plan for US 'ownership' of Gaza. He suggested Palestinians wouldn't return home under this plan, contradicting other officials who mentioned temporary relocation. Last week, Trump proposed turning Gaza into the "Riviera of the Middle East" under American control.

Trump's Vision for Gaza

The President has been pressuring Arab allies like Jordan and Egypt to accept Palestinians from Gaza temporarily. He promised "beautiful communities" away from danger zones, likening it to a real estate project. "It would be a beautiful piece of land," he said, emphasizing minimal costs.

Arab nations have strongly opposed Trump's proposal. Concerns include potential harm to the two-state solution and security issues related to hosting more refugees. Egypt and Jordan have privately expressed worries about these implications.

Reactions to Trump's Proposal

Hamas official Izzat al-Rishq criticized Trump's remarks on US ownership of Gaza as "absurd." He argued that treating the Palestinian issue like a real estate deal is bound to fail. Al-Rishq insisted that Palestinians will resist any transfer or deportation plans.

The White House clarified that Trump's idea involved temporary relocation for debris removal and reconstruction. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained this interim measure was necessary for safety reasons.

Potential Impact on Ceasefire

Trump's comments risk destabilizing the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which paused a 15-month conflict in Gaza. His suggestion of deploying US troops without funding for rebuilding raises questions about his intentions.

The President is set to meet Jordan's King Abdullah II at the White House soon. This meeting could address concerns over his Gaza proposal and its impact on regional stability.
