Yogi's minister can't sing Vande Mataram while his party wants to make it mandatory
Uttar Pradesh has made flag hoisting and singing Vande Mataram mandatory in all madrassas for Independence day.
BJP is all for making singing of Vande Mataram mandatory in all schools but the party's own minister in Uttar Pradesh can barely sing two lines of the national song. Yogi Adityananth's minister exposed the BJP's hypocrisy on a television channel's live show.

Uttar Pradesh's junior minister for minority welfare, Baldev Singh Aulakh, could not recite two lines of Vande Mataram on live television and was left redfaced. He appeared as part of a debate on Uttar Pradesh government's circular to make Independence day celebrations compulsory in all Madarsas. Even as the anchor requested him to sing the national song, that his party intends to make compulsory for every student in Maharashtra, the minister attempted to divert the topic.
When asked to sing the national song, the minister kept making excuses but refused to sing. The channel claimed that he was seen on tape asking lyrics of the song in signs. Aulakh's actions exposed the hypocrisy in making singing of national song compulsory when BJP is unable to get its own leaders to do the same. The Uttar Pradesh government's directive to Madarsas came after the Shiv Sena led Bruhanmumbai Municipal Corporation passed a resolution making singing of the national song compulsory in all schools in under its purview.
BMC's actions were supported by the BJP that sought similar directives across the country. The move was a result of Madras High court making singing of national song compulsory in all schools across the state.
