Speaking to Oneindia on the issue of women healthcare, Dr Vandana Sood, who has years pf experience on women healthcare, said that women of every class and income group should have access to proper healthcare and most importantly better sanitation. She said that Government should make sanitary needs accesible to all women so that the expensive means of sanitation does not exclude a certain section of women from healthy sanitary practices. She mentioned how women who cannot afford expensive sanitary napkins during menstruation miss out on schools and working hours.

She also pointed out that women who cannot afford proper sanitary care even in the urban areas in India resort to husk, clothes and rags and other unhealthy means to battle those days of sanitation. These methods in most cases lead to infertility in women and also cause fatal diseases.
When asked about GST on sanitary napkins, she said, "Forget about GST, these are not luxury items, there should not be any tax on them, in fact these should be given free of cost,"
