A man from Shivamogga in Karnataka was tragically killed in a terrorist strike while holidaying with his family in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday.

Pallavi shared harrowing details of the incident.

"The three of us - my husband, our son, and I - had gone to Kashmir. It happened around 1.30 pm, I think. We were in Pahalgam. He died instantly, right in front of my eyes," she said, adding, "It still feels like a nightmare."

She said that local civilians came to her aid in the immediate aftermath. "Three local people helped rescue me," Pallavi recounted.

According to her, the attackers appeared to be specifically targeting Hindus.

"Three to four individuals attacked us. I told them - kill me too, you've already taken my husband. One of them said, 'I won't kill you. Go and tell Modi'," she said.

Pallavi made a heartfelt appeal to the authorities to expedite the return of her husband's body to Shivamogga.

"It's not easy to bring the body down. It needs to be airlifted. We want it returned immediately," she said.

In one of the last videos the couple shared, they can be seen enjoying their holiday, praising their experience. They mentioned having stayed on a houseboat the previous night and recorded the video while on a shikara ride.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah condemned the incident in a post on X.

"Kannadigas are among those affected by this appalling attack. Upon receiving the news, I convened an emergency meeting and assessed the situation with the Chief Secretary and senior police officials. I have also spoken to the Resident Commissioner in Delhi," he wrote.

"We are keeping a close watch on developments. All necessary assistance will be provided. Rest assured, the Government of Karnataka stands firmly with those impacted," he added.
