Why is FIR silent on weapon used by Congress MLA Haris’s son?

Why have the police not included the weapon with which Vidwath L was beaten up? The victim of the pub brawl involving Mohammad Nalapad, the son of Congress MLA, N A Haris was beaten up with a knuckle duster according to the complaint.

Mohammad Haris Nalapad

Vidwath's friend, Praveen Venkatachalaiah had in the complaint mentioned the weapon, but the same is not included in the FIR. Special Public Prosecutor M S Shyamasundar said, " it is a weapon and attacking the victim using such a weapon amounts to attempt to murder. Since the accused hit Vidwath with knuckle duster rings, his nine ribs got fractured, he also said.

It may be recalled that Vidwath was brutally assaulted by 8 persons including Mohammad at the Farzi Cafe in Bengaluru on February 17.

While the complaint stated that he was hit with bottles and rings, the FIR only mentions the bottles. The complaint states that the non-mentioning of the rings in the FIR raises suspicion.

The SPP argued that in the spur of the moment, it could be said that the accused hit the victim with bottles because there were bottles in front of them. However, hitting Vidwath with the rings clearly suggests that they wanted to kill him.
