When police turned criminals: B'lore crime branch cops held for kidnapping accountant

Central Crime Branch (CCB) policemen allegedly abducted and forced a chartered accountant to sell his property in Bangalore, said a The Hindu report. The sleuths were allegedly caught red-handed by members of the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Saturday. The SHRC members rescued the victim, Sheikh Nizamuddin (45), from CCB headquarters.
Nizamuddin, in his complaint to the SHRC, has alleged that he was abducted by the CCB sleuths on Saturday morning. He was forced to signing blank sheets of paper and cheques, selling his 2,400 square feet plot for Rs. 57 lakh to realtor Abdul Sattar.
Nizamuddin, while in the custody of the sleuths, managed to alert his wife Nazreen, an advocate. It was Nazreen who sought the help of SHRC. Immediately after receiving the complaint, a team from the SHRC raided the CCB headquarters and rescued the victim.
The SHRC Chairperson Meera Saxena met top police officers on Monday and has ordered them to conduct a probe into the incident.
