Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party state president Subhash Barala's son Vikas was arrested on Saturday on charges of stalking a daughter of an IAS officer. Both the accused, Vikas Barala and Ashish Kumar, were released later on bail as they were booked under bailable sections of the IPC and the Motor Vehicles Act.

According to the complained filed by the victim, the police arrested Vikas Barala and Ashish Kumar immediately.

Hours after being stalked the victim shared her horrific expereince on Facebook. In her post, the woman wrote, as she was driving home from the Sector-8 market around 12.15am on Friday night, and crossed the road into Sector 7 near the petrol pump, she noticed an SUV chasing her.

"At the next turn, I tried to turn again, but this time they went a step further. right at the turn, they blocked the road in front of my vehicle, and the guy in the passenger seat got out of the auto and started walking towards me".

The woman later made a distress call to the police control room and registered a complaint of stalking following which Vikas and Ashish were arrested from near the Manimjara crossing on the border of Panchkula district in Haryana.

The woman's sister also alleged that the accused were trying to kidnap her. He banged on her window and even tried to open the door.

The Vikas, who is a student of LLB, and his friend Ashish were booked under section 354 D (stalking) of IPC and 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act (driving by a drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs).

As the issue triggered a political outcry, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the law will take its own course. Meanwhile, Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala said he respects the law and the "truth" will come out through the court.
