Vidvat assault case: Dr. Rajkumar's grandson starts online campaign to seek justice for his friend

Guru Rajkumar, the grandson of late Kannada matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar, has started an online campaign on Facebook to get justice for his childhood friend Vidvat who was assaulted by Mohammed Nalapad Harris and his accomplices last week in an upscale pub in Bengaluru.

Guru Rajkumar wrote on his Facebook wall, "From Primary School To Forever .. If My Brother is Hurt, I am Hurt. His Pain is My Pain! Get well soon my Brother Vidvat! Always there for you #JusticeforVidvat".

He also shared his picture with Vidvat showing his strong bond with his childhood buddy. The Facebook written on February 20 has been shared 1,393 times.

Guru Rajkumar's friend Vidvat is recuperating in Mallya hospital. Mohammed Nalapad Harris and his accomplices had attacked Vidvat at Farzi Cafe in UB City, Bengaluru, over a minor issue on Saturday night.

Guru Rajkumar had rushed to hospital as soon as he got the news of the attack on his friend Vidvat on Saturday night. It is said that Nalapad and his friends fled from the spot when they came to know that Guru Rajkumar was the grandson of Dr. Rajkumar.

Vidvat has suffered multiple fractures of facial bones, according to medical reports. His family has written to the Home Ministry seeking appointment of a senior advocate, Shyam Sundar, as a special public prosecutor in the case.

A magistrate court in Bengaluru on Wednesday refused to let Congress leader and MLA N A Haris' son off the hook in the case. Mohammed Nalapad Haris, along with his accomplices, was denied bail and sent to judicial custody till March 7.
