UP Tourism Hosts ‘Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude’ At Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi
If You Wish to Explore India, Come to Mahakumbh. That's the mantra that India is offering to the world.
On a crisp November evening, the regal halls of The Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi came alive with the echoes of India's rich spiritual and cultural heritage.

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department organised a grand prelude to the world-renowned Mahakumbh 2025, drawing dignitaries, ambassadors and high commissioners from around the globe.
Under the ornate chandeliers of the venue, the spirit of Prayagraj, the City of Sangam, resonated in every corner, painting a vivid picture of what promises to be a monumental spiritual gathering.

The event commenced with the dignified arrival of Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Uttar Pradesh's Tourism and Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh. Their presence set the tone for a night steeped in India's timeless traditions. Delegates mingled amid a mesmerising exhibition showcasing artistic depictions of the Kumbh's history, while a cultural ensemble of dancers and musicians transported the audience to the ghats of the Sangam.

Union Minister Shekhawat's address was nothing short of an invocation to the global audience. His words, "If you wish to see India in one place, Mahakumbh is where you must go," carried the weight of India's unmatched spiritual tapestry. With palpable excitement, he described the elaborate arrangements being made to welcome millions of pilgrims and visitors. His description of luxury accommodations, seamless transportation and guided tours painted a picture of a city brimming with life, purpose and devotion.

Jaiveer Singh, equally impassioned, highlighted the event's global significance. "Mahakumbh-2025 will stand as a testament to India's unity in diversity," he said, invoking the ancient wisdom of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - the world is one family. His words underscored the Mahakumbh's role as more than just a religious festival; it is a global confluence of cultures and ideas.

A key highlight of the evening was the presentation by Principal Secretary of Tourism, Mukesh Kumar Meshram. With detailed visuals, he unveiled plans for a sprawling tent city near the Parade Ground, offering everything from opulent Maharaja tents to modern Swiss cottages. Helicopter rides over the Sangam, water sports and cultural events will add thrilling dimensions to this deeply spiritual experience.
High commissioners and ambassadors from countries like Malaysia, Seychelles, Switzerland and Nepal soaked in the immersive experience. Their presence was a testament to Mahakumbh's universal appeal, transcending borders and religions. The screening of short films on the history and essence of the Kumbh left the audience spellbound, sparking vibrant discussions about its unparalleled scale and significance.

As the evening wound down, the air buzzed with anticipation. The Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude had succeeded in offering a glimpse of what awaits - a once-in-a-lifetime convergence of faith, culture and humanity. As attendees departed, the promise of Prayagraj beckoned, ready to script a new chapter in global spirituality.
