Unitech MD Sanjay Chandra arrested by Delhi police

The fire against Chandra was based on complaints by buyers who had booked flats in Greater Noida and have accused him of duping them

The economic offences wing of the Delhi police has arrested Unitech promoter Sanjay Chandra and his brother Ajay Chandra. Both will be produced before the court at 2 pm on Saturday.

The Delhi police had filed an FIR against Chandra on the complaint by home buyers. Chandra was accused of duping buyers who had booked flats in Greater Noida. The buyers accused of him of not completing the project on time. Further they said that they had also not been given a refund.

It is alleged that Chandra had taken money of his clients and laundered it abroad through a shell company. In January a court in Delhi had ordered Chandra to spend a day in judicial custody.
