Two autorickshaw drivers have been apprehended in connection with the case. One of them, identified as Bharat Soni, was arrested on charges of allegedly raping the minor, while the other driver, Rakesh Malviya, was detained for attempting to tamper with evidence. Police authorities stated that Soni's involvement was detected through CCTV footage showing his interaction with the victim near Ujjain railway station.
"After viewing the viral videos, we identified the girl, for whom a missing complaint had been lodged on Monday at Jaitwara police station, and promptly informed Ujjain police. The minor's grandfather has confirmed her identity," noted Satna's additional superintendent of police, Shivesh Singh Baghel.
In the meantime, the girl is receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Indore. A representative from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), who visited the victim, conveyed that her condition has shown signs of improvement. However, it is expected to take considerable time for her to recover from the psychological trauma.
