TTD Chairman Bollineni Rajagopal Naidu Criticises Asaduddin Owaisi's Comparison With Waqf Board
Bollineni Rajagopal Naidu, designated Chairma of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) who will take charge on November 6, recently criticised AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi for equating the temple board with the waqf board. This criticism arises amidst a debate over hiring only Hindus at the Tirumala temple trust.
Naidu's comments followed Owaisi's query about non-Muslim members on the waqf board in the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill. Owaisi pointed out that no non-Hindus are present on the TTD Board. Speaking to India Today TV, Naidu remarked, "The waqf board is a real estate company. How can a senior politician like him (Owaisi) compare it to TTD? I condemn his statement."

Temple Employment and Laddu Assurance
After being appointed, Naidu emphasised that only Hindus should work within the temple grounds. This statement comes amid concerns about adulterated ghee used in the Tirupati temple. On the laddu issue, Naidu reassured people about both quality and quantity, stating, "Everything is good now, and I can assure you of that for now."
When questioned about Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's proposal for a Sanatana Dharma Board, Naidu expressed agreement. He stated, "Whatever he (Pawan Kalyan) said is 100 per cent true, and I will support it." His support aligns with his focus on maintaining religious practices within temple operations.
Addressing Misinformation and Future Focus
Naidu also tackled misinformation regarding the temple circulating on social media platforms. He mentioned that TTD has previously awarded similar trophies to notable individuals like Ratan Tata. "Fake news and propaganda are not right. My focus is on the future, not past events," Naidu asserted.
He promised strict measures against those spreading false information about the temple. "TTD has a vigilance commission already conducting inquiries," he added, highlighting ongoing efforts to maintain transparency and integrity within temple management.
New Leadership and Responsibilities
The Andhra Pradesh government appointed Naidu as chairman of the newly formed 24-member TTD board on October 30. The TTD oversees Tirumala Hills, which houses one of the world's wealthiest Hindu temples. Naidu's leadership marks a new chapter in managing this significant religious site.
As Naidu prepares to take charge, his statements reflect his commitment to preserving traditional values while addressing contemporary challenges faced by TTD. His approach aims to balance religious adherence with modern governance needs.
