Tejashwi Yadav's Bold Claim On How JMM Is Poised To Retain Power In Jharkhand

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has reaffirmed that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), under the leadership of Hemant Soren, is set to secure another term as the ruling party in Jharkhand. Yadav's statement highlights the strong unity within the INDIA in Jharkhand, which includes JMM, RJD, Congress and CPI(ML), and their shared determination to ensure a resounding victory in the upcoming assembly elections.

During a press briefing in Ranchi, Yadav expressed confidence that Hemant Soren would return as chief minister. He emphasised that a consensus had been reached on seat-sharing among the alliance partners, with official announcements expected soon. This marks a key step in solidifying their strategy as Jharkhand gears up for elections, scheduled to take place in two phases on November 13 and 20.

Yadav praised the JMM's leadership and the coalition's vision for Jharkhand, noting that all parties within the INDIA bloc share a commitment to secularism, peace, and prosperity for the people of the state. He pointed to the BJP's previous rule in Jharkhand, accusing them of damaging the state's progress and being anti-reservation and anti-Constitution. "The people of Jharkhand will give a befitting reply to the BJP," Yadav asserted, signaling that the coalition's agenda is focused on welfare, equality, and inclusive governance.

The seat-sharing arrangement, as per discussions, is expected to allocate 41 seats to JMM, 30 to Congress, six to the RJD and four to the CPI(ML). This distribution reflects the coalition's strategic alignment to maintain a stronghold in the state. Despite some earlier concerns about unilateral decisions, Yadav reassured that the coalition remains intact, committed to a collaborative and cohesive approach.

In the 2019 assembly elections, the pre-poll alliance between JMM, Congress, and RJD secured a comfortable majority, with JMM emerging as the largest party. This time, Tejashwi Yadav is confident that the alliance will not only replicate that success but also expand its mandate, ensuring Jharkhand's continued progress under Hemant Soren's leadership.
