Tejashwi Yadav Calls Prashant Kishor Nitish’s B-Team; Claims Jan Suraaj Party Leader Misleading BPSC Aspirants

Protesters, accompanied by Prashant Kishor, gathered at Gandhi Maidan and attempted to march towards the chief minister's residence. This led to police intervention on Sunday evening. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, Tejashwi Yadav, criticised the Jan Suraaj Party, suggesting it acts as a 'B team' for Nitish Kumar's ruling alliance in Bihar.

Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar, expressed his views through a video message late on Sunday. He commented on the police's use of water cannons against students protesting the recent BPSC exam. Yadav claimed that the protesters were "misled" into marching towards Gandhi Maidan, hinting at the involvement of IPAC founder Prashant Kishor and his party.

Police Action and Allegations

The protest movement was initiated by students who had been staging a nearly two-week-long dharna at Gardani Bagh. Yadav alleged that this protest had shaken the government. He accused some elements of acting as the government's 'B team,' referring to those who joined the protest but fled when faced with police action.

"This movement was started by students. The nearly two week-long dharna at Gardani Bagh, where I also had gone recently, had caused the government to tremble. At this moment, came some elements acting as the government's B team," alleged Yadav, who is now the leader of the opposition in Bihar.

Prashant Kishor was not present during the police action but had addressed protesters earlier that day with his supporters. Consequently, an FIR was filed against Kishor, Jan Suraaj Party president Manoj Bharti, and others involved in the protest.

Exam Controversy and Political Support

The protesters aimed to reach the chief minister's residence but were stopped by police intervention. Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh confirmed this sequence of events. Yadav assured that his party would politically support the protesters' demand for cancelling the Combined Competitive Exams held on December 13.

"But you must not get swayed by empty promises. Stick to your guns. January 4 is still a few days away. There is time enough to bring the government to its knees. It is nonsensical to say the BPSC does not come under the government. Its chairman is an appointee of the chief minister, who also happens to hold the Home portfolio, the department which controls the police," said Yadav.

The BPSC announced a re-examination for over 10,000 candidates assigned to Bapu Pariksha Parisar in Patna after allegations surfaced about leaked question papers. However, BPSC dismissed these claims as part of a "conspiracy" intended to cancel exams.
