Sushma Swaraj meets Maldivian Foreign Minister

New Delhi, Aug 16 External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday met new Maldivian Foreign Minister Mohamed Asim.

"India First! FM Mohamed Asim meets EAM @SushmaSwaraj on his 1st official visit abroad," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

Asim, formerly Maidives' High Commissioner to Bangladesh, was appointed the country's Foreign Minister last month after Dunya Maumoon quit the post voicing opposition to the government's plan to implement the death penalty.
