Suresh Prabhu flags off new trains, announces new catering policy
Pantry car contracts awarded by zonal railway are also reassigned to IRCTC
On Monday, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu announced a new catering service policy which will separate the functioning of its on-board cooking and food distribution.
The new policy is based on providing public healthy and hygienic food as it was flooded with complaints against food quality.

According to policy, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation will manage catering service on all mobile units including all new trains. Pantry car contracts awarded by zonal railway are also reassigned to IRCTC.
